WordPress Beginner’s Workshop: March 23rd At Nova

Nova University WordCamp Miami is stepping outside Miami for the first time! We are proud to be able to offer a “Introduction to WordPress” workshop (mainly for those new to WordPress or what to improve their basic skills) on March 23rd (Saturday). This will be happening at Nova Southeastern University. Registration will start at 8am, and a full day’s schedule is planned (9am to 5pm).

Several expert WordPress developers and users will be present to give detailed talks on subjects – in logical order. They will also be available to answer questions. Only a total of 90 tickets will be sold to guarantee answers to questions can be addressed effectively.

Lunch will be provided. If you have special dietary needs, you might want to get lunch during the break or bring it with you (we will be serving most likely pizza, soda, and water). There is also a Einstein’s Bagels within the area.

  • Session #1 – Buying Domain Names / Selecting Hosting / WordPress .ORG vs .COM
  • Session #2 – Installing WordPress / Backend General Tour / Site Settings / Users & User Rules
  • Session #3 – Making Your First Post / Posts vs. Pages / Categories / Tags / Comment Moderation
  • Session #4 – Themes & Plugins: Where To Look, How To Install, Common Sense Practices
  • Session #5 – Troubleshooting And Customizing: Importing/Exporting, Bulk Posting, Customizing Themes
  • Session #6 – “Must Have” Plugins For Newbies
  • Session #7 – Open Q&A With Our Speakers – Ask Any Questions!

We are currently offering a limited number of tickets FOR FREE to NSU students. Please email miami@wordcamp.org to contact us directly to be able to appear at this workshop on 3/23 at Nova at no cost.
